DISA started the Education Scholarship program through the staff donations for Aloghar in 2008. Besides, the Microfinance programs also started donation support for its member’s children education.
Microfinance Scholarship Programme: DISA has started to provide scholarship to the students of schools at urban and rural areas. In Rural areas, the children of VO members of micro finance program of DISA and in the urban areas, the students of the parents who are economically handicapped are eligible for applying to scholarship program. DISA gives scholarship to the students of class Eight and Ten with an amount of Tk.1,200 per student. This scholarship is given from the DISA's Security and Welfare Fund and the contribution of the supporters Group Members.
DISA provided scholarship to 911 students in rural areas in 2014. It also finalized a list of applicants for scholarship for 995 students including Girls Students 503 and Boys Students 492 in rural areas in 2015 from 143 schools and 71 Madrasha. Up to December 2016, Tk. 13,54,800 distributed to 1,129 students as Scholarship under Micro Finance Programe, whereas 4,98,000 distributed to 415 students(October-December 2016).
Aloghar Scholarship Programmne: DISA has been providing scholarship to the students of schools at the urban area in Pallabi, Mirpur, Dhaka-1216 from 2011. The students studying at class eight and class ten levels who hail from ultra-poor households in the area and also members of Aloghar are eligible for applying for scholarship. DISA makes assessment of the applications and those satisfying the selection criteria are provided with annual scholarship in an amount of Tk.300 per student per month. DISA provides scholarships to 140 students from 17 Schools in Mirpur Area including 13 handicap students in the 2014. It also selected 175 students from 70 schools for scholarship in 2015 that includes 25% handicapped students. As of December 2016, Tk. 8,89,200 distributed under Aloghar Scholarship Programme to 247 students whereas 133 student receaved total Tk.4,78,800 from October-December 2016 .
Onuron Scholarship Project: For Disadvantaged Students of the community, DISA with the financial support of a Canada Based Not-for-profit organization named “Orunon Foundation Canada- OFC” started Orunon scholarship programs from 2014. The objective of providing scholarships to underprivileged students (irrespective of religion, ethnicity and gender) of Bangladesh is to help them in achieving equal opportunity in getting into formal education system and continuing quality education up to minimum Grade-12.
The main goal of Onuron Foundation is to provide funding to the primary and the secondary level students who fail to continue their studies due to the financial crisis. DISA, with the technical guidance of Onuron Foundation; select the students for scholarship based on different aspects of the application, for example, financial status, merits, availability of the sponsors, etc.

Primarily, DISA working in 10 districts of Bangladesh with its’ Scholarship project as per the needs of the community. The selected districts are: Dhaka, Chittagong, Chapai Nawabganj, Gazipur, Jessore, Kustia, Manikganj, Netrokona, Noakhali, Satkhira and Sirajganj. DISA will extend the service and increase the number of students from next year.
